Campus status

Environment Canada has upgraded its weather alert to an Orange Warning – Winter Storm for our region, anticipating heavy snow and hazardous travel on Sunday. As a result, Durham College (DC) in-person classes, labs and operations at both Oshawa and Whitby campuses are cancelled on Sunday, January 25.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Campus facilities, including the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre and libraries, are closed.
• Residence remains open, as well as some food services.
• Students scheduled for in-person classes or labs on Sunday should check DC Connect for specific course updates from their faculty member.
• Remote and online classes continue as scheduled.
• Students who have a clinical and work placement scheduled for Sunday are to follow their employer’s directions.
• Essential service employees who have been notified by their supervisor are required to be on campus for work.
• At this time, the Campus Fieldhouse and Ice Centre remain open in accordance with the City of Oshawa.

We will continue to closely monitor the weather and progress of any necessary snow-clearing efforts. We will share information about any impacts on Monday’s campus operations and classes as soon as it becomes available via email, social media, the mobile app, and the campus status webpage.
