Paramedics perform their regular duties with significant autonomy within a highly complex medical legal framework. The ability to provide care for patients within this framework requires an operational understanding of the process. This course examines medical legal issues surrounding the provision of pre-hospital care in a case-based format. Case presentations are made weekly, highlighting one or two issues for discussion. Course work will stress the importance of working within the medical legal framework while fostering the development of autonomy in decision-making in the field.
