The course will include the identification of common tree species that will be discussed relative to determining appropriate site(s), species selection, placement, planting or transplanting along with the subsequent care and management. To include the fundamentals of tree biology as it relates to arboriculture and the eco-friendly aspects of trees in the environment. Students will perform basic pruning techniques on trees and shrubs and understand methods involved in tree mitigation practices. In the learning environment students will also learn about the appropriate safety equipment and workplace health and safety practices for arboriculture applications.
