This course will provide students with the tools to develop and maintain the concepts of wellness, active living, and the fitness concepts from FITS1401. The course continues to provide practical strategies for developing a healthy lifestyle, and to prepare for physically demanding work in the paramedic field. Students through both classroom, and group presentations will address the topics of physical fitness, nutrition and weight management, the effects of shift work and stress management, and reducing chronic disease risk. Students will be required to complete a fitness test based on proper body mechanics and strength components of fitness.
