Public Relations Copy Writing II

This course will help Public Relations (PR) students develop their professional writing skills. Through analysis and practise of composing written communication most frequently used in PR, students will establish their foundational writing skills and continue building a portfolio. Areas of focus will include feature stories, fundraising letters, public service announcements and speeches. This course is a prerequisite for Publication Management and builds on the skills and knowledge gained in PR Copywriting I. It is assumed students in this course bring with them the fundamental writing, photography and computer skills (acquired in first year) necessary to complete the assigned work. Some students may need additional support to sharpen these skills outside of class. Student Academic Learning Services provides valuable resources to help students improve their fundamental writing skills and succeed in this course.
