Durham College welcomes parents and family members!
Student success at college is the result of a team effort and as parents and family members you are an integral part of the team. This section of the website has been developed to help you gain an understanding of the student experience and the ways you can remain active partners in fostering your student’s success. We believe that the more informed you are about Durham College, the better equipped you will be to support your student and to celebrate his or her successes and challenges.
Dine for half price
Family members of students who are meal plan subscribers are invited to join their student at the South Village Dining Hall for a half-priced meal. Our South Village Dining Hall features an outstanding buffet with a large selection of food choices to meet the dining needs of all our guests.
A Year on Campus and Another Year on Campus
The Student Life office is proud to offer A Year on Campus, our first-year parent and family calendar, and Another Year on Campus, our upper-year parent and family calendar. Both provide insight into the typical first- and upper-year student experiences. They contain an abundance of valuable information including contact information for service areas, important dates, first- and upper-year transitional issues and ideas on how families can support their student. This information can help parents and family members become more informed and better able to support the educational journey of their student.
The first-year on campus calendar is available in print, to request a copy please contact the Student Life office.
