Anatomy and Physiology

Anatomy and Physiology examines the normal structure and function of the human body. This course explores the levels of organization within the body and a look at the inter-related and interdependent nature of the human organ systems. The concepts of metabolism, physiological needs and homeostasis are introduced with a focus on the integumentary, skeletal, muscle and nervous systems. There is further study of the endocrine, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, urinary and reproductive systems. The concepts of water, electrolyte and acid-base balance are also examined.
