Proctored exams

For those students who live outside a 100 kilometer radius of a local college, you can arrange to write your final exam(s) under the supervision of a proctor.

The student is responsible for obtaining a professional to act as the proctor (approved by Durham College) and any additional fees incurred, i.e. proctor fees and/or exam courier fees.

If you are using a proctor, a proctor form must be completed and returned via fax at 905.721.3195 or via email at ontariolearnexams@durhamcollege.ca. Print and complete the proctor form and fax, or complete online and return it via email.

Please note: proctor forms must be received by the Distance Education office at least 10 business days prior to your scheduled exam date.

OntarioLearn students not registered with Durham College

Effective October 2016, as a non-Durham College registered student with OntarioLearn there is a $50.00 invigilation fee payable by credit card only upon registration for the exam.

To register and pay for your exam session, please contact Marisa Cassar at 905-721-2000 ext. 2739.

Missed exams

You are responsible for attending your exams as scheduled to meet your course requirements. If for the following reasons you are unable to attend, you may be eligible for a make-up exam:

  • Medical reason (Doctor’s note required).
  • Employment reason – your job has taken you out-of-town (Employer’s note required).
  • Death in the family (Copy of death certificate required).

Make-up final examinations must be scheduled and completed within two business days after the last official exam date.

You are responsible for notifying our exam coordinator at ontariolearnexams@durhamcollege.ca of your absence within 48 hours of the scheduled final examination who will arrange the rescheduling.

A $50 non-refundable fee will apply in all cases.

Missed tests and assignments are not covered by this policy and will not be rescheduled.
