Parking Information

Effective Fall 2026, operational leadership for Parking Services will transition from Durham College to Ontario Tech University.  Parking Services will continue to operate as a shared service supporting both institutions. 

As part of this transition, parking operations will move to a fully in-house serviceenabling the Parking Services team to provide more direct support, improve responsiveness, modernize parking systems and technology, and deliver a more consistent parking experience for students, employees, and visitors across both campuses. 

Over the coming months, several improvements will be introduced, including digital permits, enhanced payment options, upgraded equipment, and new tools designed to make parking easier and more convenient. 

Parking permits

Permits for all ungated lots will be fully digital and linked to vehicle license plate(s). Physical access cards will continue to be required for gated lots  

The following lots will be gated:  

  • Founders Lot 1 
  • Commencement Lot north portion 
  • A portion of Whitby Main Lot (South) 

The following lots will be ungated:  

  • Founders Lot 2 
  • Founders Lot 3 
  • Founders Lot 4 
  • Founders Lot 5 
  • Champions Visitor Lot 
  • Champions South Lot 
  • Commencement Lot south portion 
  • Simcoe Village Lot 
  • Babcock Field Lot 
  • SSB Visitors Lot 
  • portion of Whitby Main Lot (North)

Daily Parking

Beginning September 1, vehicles parked on campus must have either: 

  • A valid digital parking permit, or 
  • An active HONK daily parking session 

Daily parking will be available through HONK Mobile, allowing users to pay for parking using a smartphone. The platform also allows users to extend parking sessions remotely and receive digital receipts.

Parking Services is now located at “The Link” (SCI 1004) located in the Science Building where it connects to the Gordon Willey Building’s Justice Wing (near Subway).
