Welcome to Durham College (DC), May 2024 First-Year students!

Orientation begins before classes start to help first-year students with their transition to DC. It consists of academic and social events to help students learn about their new program, make connections, and become familiar with the Oshawa and Whitby campuses.

The Orientation events page has a full list of April Start Strong sessions, campus tours, and Orientation events.

Oshawa Campus activities

  • 9 a.m. – International Student Orientation (ISO), South Village Courtyard
  • 11 a.m. – International students from Whitby will travel by bus to the Whitby Campus
  • 11:30 a.m. – Program Orientation, locations found on the Program Orientation page.
  • 1 to 3 p.m. – Spring into DC Orientation event at the Oshawa Campus, South Village Courtyard

Whitby Campus activities

  • 12 p.m. – Lunch for students provided by Bistro '67
  • 1 to 3 p.m. – Program Orientation for Hospitality students in CFF 206
    • 1 to 2:30 p.m. Program Orientation
    • 2:30 to 3 p.m. Student Development/Durham College Student Association (DCSA) presentation about services available to students

International Student Orientation (ISO): A session for Oshawa and Whitby international students will take place at the Oshawa campus. Details are available on the International Student Orientation webpage.

Program Orientation: These sessions offer students an opportunity to meet faculty members and classmates, as well as discover important details about their new program. Students can locate their program orientation room by visiting the Program Orientationwebpage.

Spring into DC Orientation: This event provides students with a chance to meet new friends, pick up some DC swag, indulge in free food, learn about the many services available, and participate in interactive games and activities.
