Durham College has once again been recognized for being a great place to work with the college named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2013 in a special editorial supplement published in the Tuesday, November 20 issue of the Globe and Mail. 

The college, which received the honour for the third year in a row, is proud to be recognized in several different areas of employee support including investing in ongoing employee development with subsidies for tuition and professional accreditation, formal mentoring and a range of in-house and online training programs; encouraging work-life balance via flexible work arrangements; helping employees prepare for retirement; and striving to be an important member of the community with employees helping to direct the college’s charitable program, raising funds and donating approximately 5,000 hours to community initiatives last year.

The supplement sees employers evaluated by editors from Mediacorp Canada/Canada’s Top 100 Employers, a national competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for employees. Organizations are judged on several categories including financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; training and skills development; and community involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
