Working on the Durham College Advisory Committee for  the Biotechnology – Advanced and Pharmaceutical and Food Science Technology programs has been a unique and enriching experience. It is so beneficial to appreciate the perspectives of industry members, the faculty and the students on the current program and new trends in science and technology. I believe the committee has  made good progress on student placements, educational tools available from Health Canada and CFIA, auditing knowledge as a critical skill for students, technical writing and communication skills valuable to employers, and identifying new trends for future  program updates.
