Notification
Courtesy overdue, bill (unpaid fines), alert and hold availability notices are sent by email. The non-receipt of notices does not relieve the borrower from liabilities for fines or other sanctions.
The sender of the email notices is SIRSI from the email address library@uoit.ca. If an email address is unavailable, the library will send overdue and bill notices only by postal mail. Alert notices (reminder notices sent two days before material is due) are sent to email addresses only.
Most new student and staff records are preloaded into the library database with the institutional email address; @DCMAIL.CA for students and Outlook for staff.
Email addresses can be verified and updated online through MY ACCOUNT, by phone, or in person at any branch of the Campus Libraries.
In addition to email notices, patrons can receive text message (SMS) alert, overdue, bill and available hold reminders. Use MY ACCOUNT or contact library staff by phone or in person to initiate, make changes, or to end text messages reminders.
