Campus Bookstore

Durham College has two retail outlets that serve our campus community. One is located at the Oshawa campus in the Gordon Willey building and the second is located at the Whitby campus, adjacent to the main entrance.

Clothing

Looking for something comfortable to wear? Maybe you need to pick up a gift for a loved one? Our campus bookstores stock Durham College wear in a variety of sizes, colours and styles. We order clothing four times per year to maintain sufficient stock levels and to keep up with current clothing trends.

Course textbooks

The campus bookstores carry all your textbook needs for every course offered at Durham College. 

Ordering books online

All of your textbooks can be ordered online using our e-commerce Bookware3000 system. The Bookware3000 system allows you to search by ISBN, course, author, title etc. Once your order is complete you will have the option to pick up your books at the Oshawa Campus Bookstore or have the books shipped to you directly.

Please note: Pickup orders are not available at the Whitby campus. Orders are usually received in one to four business days. You must show photo identification to pick up your orders.

We have a variety of giftware available at our campus bookstores, including Durham College:

Jackets

Durham College school jackets are available for purchase three to four times per year. All orders require a deposit with the balance due when you pick up your new jacket.

Loss prevention when shopping at the Campus Bookstore

In an attempt to maintain low costs, all items in the bookstore are security tagged when they are received. Once purchased, the security tag will be deactivated. Bags of any sort, including backpacks and laptop bags, are not allowed in the store at any time. All bags must be left on the shelving provided at the front of the store.

Campus Bookstore refund policy

Books

Most books are refundable, but must be returned:

  • Within 14 days of purchase with the original receipt.
  • In the original packaging.
  • In perfect resaleable condition (do not write in, mark or read books until you are certain about your courses).

Clothing

Exchanges or refunds will be given:

  • Within 10 days of purchase.
  • Must have original receipt.
  • Clothing must not be worn or washed.
  • Tags must still be attached.

Refunds or exchanges will not be accepted on:

  • Access/key codes
  • Calculators/electronic items
  • CD/DVDs
  • Computer peripherals
  • Computer software
  • Course kits
  • Dictionaries
  • Custom publications
  • Final sale items
  • Lab supplies
  • Print packs
  • Quick study guides
  • Reprotexts
  • Sale and discounted items
  • Special orders
  • Used books

All returns at the final discretion of store personnel.

We will exchange items that are deemed defective. No returns allowed during exam periods or in-class tests.

Much of our textbook return policy is dictated by policies of the textbook publishers.  If one of these policies is affecting your return and is beyond our control, we will happily provide you with the publisher’s phone number.

Rings

The Campus Bookstore offers Durham College school rings for sale throughout the year. We also offer three or four special ring days when rings are available for purchase through Josten’s from special kiosks on campus. On these days you can view samples and place your orders. All orders require a $70 deposit, with the balance paid when your ring is delivered.

Software

The campus bookstores have the ability to order and sell selected software programs to current students at an academic rate. Microsoft, Adobe, Macromedia and Quark are some of the vendors available.
