Video Capture II (Narrative)

Students will have the opportunity to create a project from blank page to completion in one semester. Building on skills learned in the Video Capture I course, students are expected to apply and expand their shooting and editing techniques to create unique and personal video projects of greater scope. This course will also introduce students to the fundamental principles and formats required for scriptwriting with audio and visual elements in mind. They will learn to understand and appreciate the difference between documentary filmmaking and narrative filmmaking and, through dedicated class time as well as many hours of external production, successfully complete a polished 5-minute project. Students will have the opportunity to produce their own film, and work in a crew position for other students.
