Project Resource Planning and Scheduling

Project Resources Planning and Scheduling course is designed to empower the student/practitioner with the skills and techniques required to plan and schedule the project resources throughout its life cycle by using the PMBOK® Guide standard, methodologies and techniques. The core topics include planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling the project and allocating resources to implement the project. Other techniques include scope planning, development and use of the WBS, developing schedules, project resources requirements planning, acquisition, and allocation, network diagrams, scheduling and schedule calculations and optimization, resource constrained scheduling, allocation and leveling of project resources, earned value analysis and schedule control. This project management course covers relevant automated and manual techniques used in planning, scheduling, and monitoring of human and non-human resources required to deliver project deliverables. The course concentrates on the primary knowledge areas from the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide, Fifth Edition) – Time Management, Cost Management and Human Resource Management, Risk Management, and Procurement Management will be covered while being reinforced by real-life case studies and laboratory exercises. Although the PMBOK® Guide will be a reference for this course, the focus is to prepare the student for a position as a project manager, reducing the ramp up time for training on behalf of the hiring company.
