Mathematics II for Water Technicians

This course continues the work that was begun in MATH 1109 with a focus on specific calculations and formulas required in the water quality industry and contributes to a majority of the courses in the program. Specific mathematical calculations will include Applied Volume Calculations, Flow and Velocity Calculations, Loading Rate Calculations, and Detention and Retention Time Calculations. Using mathematical procedures, specifically Unit Analysis, and applying mathematical concepts to solve problems is stressed. Upon completion of this course students will have gathered enough knowledge to write the mathematics component of the Ministry of Environment "Entry-Level Drinking Water Operator Exam" and attempt the Ontario Ministry of Environment "Operator in Training" examinations.
