Linux III

This course introduces the students to advanced features in the Linux operating system to facilitate interoperability and networking with other systems. Topics include advanced remote management using SSH, setting up FTP and DHCP servers, implementing Samba file sharing as well as improving data safety and availability with file backups and RAID. Students will also deploy Web and e-mail servers and secure the Linux system. With the rise of market share of Linux in the PC business world and the prevalence of UNIX based legacy systems students must learn to deploy, support and secure these systems in a business environment.
