Courtroom Clerk/Registrar-Family II

This course is a continuation in the study of a courtroom clerk/registrar for family law cases in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and Family Court. Topics continuing to be covered include courtroom decorum, conduct, and pre-, post- and in-court responsibilities in accordance with ministry-approved procedures, practices and guidelines. During the second semester, emphasis is placed on practical applications such as reading and understanding Minutes of Settlement, Consents and Judges' orders. Students will learn how to prepare forms and orders resulting from Judges' endorsements, such as Support Deduction orders, Refraining Order, Office of the Children's Lawyer orders and warrants. Students will study their responsibilities as a First Appearance clerk (Rules 39 and 40 of the Family Law rules)
