Clinical Skills & Techniques I

In this course, students practice fundamental massage techniques and perform in-depth palpation of the upper and lower limbs. With a focus on principles of outcome-based massage, students learn to use an evidence-based approach when selecting and sequencing massage techniques for patient impairments. In the classroom and laboratory, clinical case examples provide students the opportunity to strengthen critical thinking skills and apply their knowledge to simulated situations. Students also review infection control guidelines and practice positioning, pillowing and draping techniques.
