Anatomy & Physiology-EMCC

Emergency Medical Dispatchers require an understanding of human anatomy and physiology in order to accurately categorize, prioritize, and route emergency calls. This course will provide a survey of body structures and functions that include integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, circulatory, lymphatic, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. Students will use critical thinking to make connections between common medical ailments and their physiological causes. Medical terminology will be an ongoing focus as it is essential in both the communication and documentation of emergency medical calls.
