This course introduces the student to animal nursing skills in and out of a hospital setting. Topics covered include preventative medicine, home care skills, administering medication and caring for the hospitalized patient. In-hospital skills will include monitoring vitals, fluid therapy, wound care, bandaging techniques, ambulatory care and euthanasia. The students will have the necessary skills to care for animals in a variety of settings.
