Admission requirements
Applicants to Durham College require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent. Some programs have subject and/or other requirements that must be met. Please note that in order to determine equivalent standing from other countries, Durham College requires original or certified copies of all documentation and academic records.
The college also offers English language training on campus that is designed to prepare students for entry into college programs.
A six-level English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program gives extensive instruction to international students who do not speak English as their first language and do not meet the language requirements for direct entry into a Canadian college.
The goal of the program is to ensure that graduating students have post-secondary competence when using the English language so they can participate successfully in post-secondary programs. In addition, students also gain an understanding of Canadian teaching methods, teachers’ expectations and the responsibilities of being a student in a Canadian academic environment. Visit our English language training page for more information including program start dates.
