How can I get involved in varsity sports?

  • You must complete an online registration prior to trying out for a team. Register for tryouts at

Durham College varsity teams include: Women's and men's soccer; basketball; volleyball; golf; and indoor soccer as well as women's fastball and men's baseball.

How do I get involved in intramural or extramural sports?

 Due to the lower enrolment in the summer months, the Student Association is unable to offer intramural and extramural programs during the summer. In the fall, register in the Tuck Shop (located in the Student Centre) for intramural and extramural sports and activities. There are competitive and recreational leagues in hockey, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer and cricket.

 Looking for a competitive team that plays other post-secondary institutions? Try-outs for extramural teams begin late summer or early fall. The SA has men’s and women’s extramural hockey teams.  Please note: Only full-time, non-varsity students are eligible to play on extramural teams.

What athletic facilities are available to me?

  • state-of-art FLEX Fitness Centre;
  • five large gymnasiums;
  • 200m indoor track;
  • two aerobic/dance studios;
  • Campus Ice Centre;
  • Campus Tennis Centre;
  • soccer pitch;
  • fastball diamond; and
  • two squash courts;

You are required to show your campus ID card to gain access to the athletic facilities.

Please note: There is an additional fee for fitness classes, personal training sessions and shinny hockey. All other services are FREE!
