Conference History and Overview
Each year, the Educational Developers Caucus sponsors an annual conference for its members and individuals actively involved or interested in the field of educational development.
To facilitate equitable access, we aim to move the conference location across the country (east, then central, then west, then central, then east, etc.). This year, the conference will be hosted by Durham College, in Oshawa, Ontario. We are located just east of Toronto, and are easily accessible by any mode of transportation.
The two-day conference will take place February 24th and 25th, 2009, with two full-day pre-conference workshops on February 23rd. The conference program (pre-conference sessions, keynote(s), concurrent sessions) is organized around our central theme: Facilitating Change.
Goals of Conference
In keeping with the EDC Bylaws, the Conference aims to:
- facilitate networking and communication between future, new and seasoned educational developers;
- profile developments (scholarly and otherwise) in the field;
- afford professional development opportunities to experienced, new and potential educational developers; and
- provide a forum to exchange ideas, issues and concerns emerging in the field.
Our Winners
The 2009 EDC Winter Conference hosts at Durham College are delighted to announce that Andrea Graham, Julie Timmermans, and Sarah Braid are the recipients of our Student Bursaries for this year. In addition, we are pleased to announce that Eric Kristensen has won the free early bird registration draw. Congratulations to all! We look forward to seeing all of you at the conference.
