Building for our future
In order to provide new opportunities to students in areas that are critical to our local, provincial and national economies, Durham College is growing.
Announced on Jan. 27, 2009, Canada's Economic Action Plan enabled Durham College to apply for and receive federal and provincial funding to address deferred maintenance and repair issues and upgrade its educational facilities. The resulting enhancements improve and modernize existing services which in turn provide a better educational experience for Durham College students.
As of May 2011, the college has completed two out of three expansion phases of our Whitby campus, and added new spaces to our Oshawa campus, including the construction of one of the most all-encompassing student services buildings in the province.
The expansion effort includes state-of-the-art laboratories and classroom spaces and implements energy-efficient technology. In addition to developing our campus assets, we have added in-demand programs in response to the ever-changing marketplaces of our region, province and country.
This site contains details of the on-going developments at both our campuses, photos of the expansion efforts as they take place and additional construction updates as well as information about our new programs.
