Simulation
One of the main components of the Critical Care Nursing E-Learning Graduate Certificate program is the Critical Care simulations. This course is offered in a high-tech lab with high-fidelity simulators from which you can take blood pressures, listen to heart sounds, breath sounds, etc. Thirty-nine hours in length, the lab is held over two weekends.
Arrow Canada generously donates an intra aortic balloon pump to Durham College’s Critical Care Simulations course.
Locations
Durham College has partnered with seven Ontario educational institutions to offer simulation labs:
- Cambrian College, Sudbury
- Centennial College, Toronto
- Confederation College, Thunder Bay
- Georgian College, Barrie
- Queen’s University, Kingston
- Sault College, Sault Ste. Marie
- Northern College, Timmins

Durham College is offering the following Critical Care Simulations lab course dates:
- May 4 & 5 (part 1)
- May 25, 26 2013 (part 2)
- June 8, 9, 2013 (part 1)
- June 22 & 23 (part 2)
- September 14 & 15, 2013 (part 1)
- Sept. 28 &29, 2013 (part 2)
- October 26 & 27, 2013 (part 1)
- November 9 and 10, 2013 (part 2)
- January 11 and 12, 2014 (part 1)
- January 25 and 26, 2014 (part 2)
- February 15 and 16, 2014 (part 1)
- March 8 and 9, 2014 (part 2)
To enroll in one of the Durham College simulation labs:
1. Review ‘Process for applying for Critical Care Simulation‘
2. Complete the ‘Simulation Request Form‘ and send to
