Mid-term exams
If your course has an “in-person” midterm exam requirement, please send an e-mail to ontariolearnexams@durhamcollege.ca stating your full name, course name, start date and the time frame in which the midterm is to be completed.
Final exams
If your course has an “in-person” final exam requirement, you will need to schedule your final exam no later than the Saturday following your course end date – no extensions are granted. You must register online to write the exam, at least five business days prior to the exam writing date. No telephone calls will be accepted. Confirmation of your selected writing date(s) will be sent to you via the e-mail you provided. Please check your spam/junk folder if it does not appear in your in-box.

Online computer-based exams
Online exam(s) are booked on an individual basis based on computer availability at the Oshawa campus’ Test Centre. Please send an e-mail to ontariolearnexams@durhamcollege.ca indicating the following:
- Student name
- Course name
- Preferred writing date(s)
Please allow five business days for booking online exams as space is limited. Confirmation of your selected writing date(s) will be sent to you via the e-mail you provided. Please check your spam/junk folder if it does not appear in your in-box.
Proctored exams
For those students who live outside a 100 kilometer radius of a local college, you can arrange to write your final exam(s) under the supervision of a proctor.
The student is responsible for obtaining a professional to act as the proctor (approved by Durham College) and any additional fees incurred, i.e. proctor fees and/or exam courier fees.
If you are using a proctor, a proctor form must be completed and returned via fax at 905.721.3195 or via e-mail at ontariolearnexams@durhamcollege.ca. Print and complete the proctor form and fax, or complete online and return it via email.
Please note: proctor forms must be received by the Distance Education office at least 10 business days prior to your scheduled exam date.
