"Ask Me, I'm Orange" is a campus-wide initiative involving current students, faculty, staff and administrators. These volunteers will help you adjust to the campus by answering any questions you may have prior to arriving on campus and throughout the academic year. Below is a list of the different ways the "Ask Me, I'm Orange" team can assist you.
During the summer
Do you have questions about orientation activities or what to expect for the upcoming year?
- E-mail askmeiamorange@durhamcollege.ca and one of our students will promptly respond to your question; or
- Call the Ask Me, I'm Orange Hotline at 905.721.2000 ext. 2855 Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and one of our students can answer your questions in person. After hours, leave us a message and we will call you back the following business day!
During Orientation Week
Look around campus and you will find friendly faces that can provide directions and answers to any questions you have about the campus and orientation events. For easy identification during the first week of classes, the volunteers will be wearing T-shirts with the "Ask Me, I'm Orange" logo.
Year-round
Volunteers are your informal mentors who can be approached at anytime throughout the year to answer your questions or offer some guidance.
- Student volunteers will have "Ask Me, I'm Orange" tags and buttons attached to their study bags identifying them as participants in the program; and
- Faculty, administration and staff volunteers will display the "Ask Me, I'm Orange" logo in their office windows or workspace.
If you wish to register for our Staff to Student Mentoring program you can be matched with a formal mentor that will be available throughout the academic year to offer you support and information when you need it most.
