Plumbing Apprenticeship Program
As one of Ontario's top student and employer-rated colleges, Durham College is seeking an experienced and motivated individual who shares our commitment to quality and success. The School of Apprenticeship requires a plumbing professor to delivery instruction in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) beginning February 1st, 2010 through to June 18th, 2010.
Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:
- Must hold an Ontario Plumber Certification.
- Must have practical work experience in all aspects of the plumbing field including:
General Piping Systems
Blueprint Reading
Trade Calculations
Estimating
- Excellent communication, organization, planning and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of adult educational principles, theory and teaching methodology.
- Understanding of the Community College system in Ontario would be an asset.
- Two or more years teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred.
Those candidates selected for an interview may be required to provide a 20-minute demonstration of teaching skills. Details will be provided when interviews are scheduled.
