Plumbing Apprenticeship Program

As one of Ontario's top student and employer-rated colleges, Durham College is seeking an experienced and motivated individual who shares our commitment to quality and success.  The School of Apprenticeship requires a plumbing professor to delivery instruction in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) beginning February 1st, 2010 through to June 18th, 2010.

Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:

1. Must hold an Ontario Plumber Certification.
2. Must have practical work experience in all aspects of the plumbing field including:
   
   General Piping Systems
   Blueprint Reading 
   Trade Calculations
   Estimating
   
   
3. Excellent communication, organization, planning and teamwork skills.
4. Understanding of adult educational principles, theory and teaching methodology.
5. Understanding of the Community College system in Ontario would be an asset.
6. Two or more years teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred.

Those candidates selected for an interview may be required to provide a 20-minute demonstration of teaching skills.  Details will be provided when interviews are scheduled.
